Central Queensland Gliding Club was founded about 30 years ago at Kunawarra (near Rockhampton) on leased land. Today, the club is small yet thriving one    operating its own facilities approximately 90 kms south west of Rockhampton, on the Burnett Highway. Situated on the northern end of the Callide Valley, the club owns a piece of land where there is a grass runway with clubhouse, bunkrooms and hanger facilities. The runway is orientated East-West with a winch located at either end providing launch power.
Our club is totally self funded and operated by its members. Like other gliding clubs, the day to day operations are performed by club members. Whether it be driving the winch, flying passengers or   conducting gliding instruction.
